Rampnow performs enhanced due diligence when a user is identified as a PEP (Politically Exposed Person) or when a transaction requires proof of legitimate fund origin.
PEP Screening
A customer is flagged as PEP if:
- They hold (or previously held) a public office
- They are a close associate of a PEP
- They are a family member of a PEP
PEP matches trigger:
- Enhanced due diligence
- Mandatory compliance review
- Transaction monitoring uplift
Proof of Funds (PoF)
PoF is required for:
- Large-value transactions
- Suspicious activity indicators
- Mismatched financial behaviour
Accepted PoF documents:
- Bank statements
- Payslips
- Tax returns
- Company invoices
- Asset sale documentation
Transactions remain on hold until PoF is reviewed and approved.
Review Outcomes
- Approved – user can continue
- Limited – lower transaction thresholds imposed
- Rejected – prohibited due to risk or non-cooperation
